- Most moms think that all running around is accounted as exercise. But remember, that is just routing work. Your body needs something extra and challenging to make you fit.
- Think this as an appointment with yourself. You keep your appointment at the parlour, kitty parties, social engagements etc. this is your best ‘ME’ time. Out of 24-hours, you can spend 45 minutes to 1 hour for yourself. Just exercise.
- Remember, you are working out for yourself not for anybody else. Your husband and kids are busy with their schedules, so if you fall sick or unfit, you have to look after yourself.
- Anytime is a great time to workout. So priorities your activities and make fitness lifestyle. It’s like brushing your teeth every morning. This includes being active: stop using the remote; answer the doorbell yourself; get your own glass of water. Walk, wherever and whenever you can. Exercise helps you to handle long hours of your day without feeling tried.
- Make smart food choices. Plan in advance. Sunday is the best day. The vegetable can be bought every third day. Plan your menu for the week.
- Manage your meal portion sizes. At least 5 to 6 small meals should be the consumed; breakfast, lunch and dinner are the pillars. The mid-morning and mid-evening meals are the metabolism boosters. Eat carbohydrates, proteins, fat and fibers in the right amount. Low fat dairy, boneless chicken, fish, lean meats, beans, brown grains, whole wheat pasta and multigrain breads are wise choices.
- Remember, before starting and workout, get your assessment done. Select an activity, which you love.
- A fit mom – looks sexy, feels sexy.
For new moms: take permission from your gynecology, before starting an exercise program or diet. You have to have a very nutritious diet.
