Chanda Kochhar is new CEO of  ICICI. Chanda kochhar joined ICICI 1984 as management trainee after completing her master in management studies ( finance) and cost accounting.

From here Kochhar played a key role in shaping the retail finance industry in the country, where funds were hard to come by for individual borrowers. She was instrumental in scaling up ICICI’s retail biz. Under her leadership, the bank won best retail bank award for four year from the ‘The Asian Banker’.

Fortune magazine ranked her as 2007’s 33rd most powerful woman in business.
